The Werribee Park and Mansion is a beautiful old home set within gorgeous gardens. It’s a popular place for friends and families to gather for picnics and recreational activities.
The Werribee Mansion is an awesome backdrop for those family photos. It was built in 1877, it has 60 rooms and is still home to some of the original furniture and clothing of the Chirnside family who built the mansion.

Entry Fee
Whilst it’s free to roam the gardens there is a small admission fee to go through the Werribee Mansion.

About the Werribee Mansion
The Werribee Mansion is Great to go through and let your imagination go back in time to try and get an understanding of what it would’ve been like to live here. It’s great that all the rooms are fitted out with the original furniture. Often when you see historical places the furniture is not original to the place of interest.
I fell in love with 3 rooms, the children’s room was awesome, I totally loved the rocking horse and the nostalgia of the room, then there was the billiard room….this was awesome, with the deer head hanging on the walls as they were throughout the mansion and the animal skins used as rugs on the floor with the heads still on!! The other room I liked was the drawing room, can’t explain why, I just did, the open fire place, old style furniture and just the feel in the room.

When you go out on the balcony on the second floor you see an awesome view of the Werribee Park and see the beautiful gardens below where you witness family and friends gathering together having fun.

After the Mansion we walked outside and checked out the old laundry where a lot of hard labour would’ve occurred. Then it was a pleasant stroll through the sculpture gardens which lead to the Werribee River.
