I was pretty excited to go to the Melbourne zoo for my first time. My family have been and had often talked about the cheeky monkeys. It was now time for me to go and experience the zoo for myself.
It was a really warm day when I went however there are loads of shady areas so I wasn’t in the hot sun and the animals have lots of shade too.
My favourite experiences at the Melbourne Zoo
Even though it was a warm day the animals were still active. I really loved watching the monkeys that were having loads of fun swinging on ropes; I sure do wish I could’ve joined them!!!

My next favourite was seeing the Gorillas, they are such huge awesome animals, some were busy eating whilst others were walking around there large enclosure.

Then there were the Lemurs, their enclosure is awesome and they can come up really close to you, however if they do you are required to step away from them. I was lucky one liked me, I think as much as I liked her and came up nice and close to me.

I spent lots of time watching the tiger walking around and one of my all-time favourites the majestic elephants who were keeping cool by using their trunk to spray dirt on themselves.

How long would I spend here?
It’s very easy to spend 3 hours minimum at the zoo, there’s lots of different animals and reptiles to see and loads of space if you want to take a picnic with you.

Melbourne Zoo Location

My Tip
Purchase an annual Zoo Pass from the Melbourne Zoo. My family bought a yearly pass which entitles us to go to the Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary as many times as we like, this is totally awesome news for me as they take me everywhere and I really loved my first visit to the zoo. I can’t wait to visit the other two!!
I’m sure if you love animals a visit to this beautifully set up zoo will not disappoint you.
