We visited Bali Zoo three times in one year!! Each time is after we make many precious memories whilst having breakfast with the orangutans. This is an experience we totally recommend you explore if visiting Bali Zoo and of course if you love orangutans and elephants. Mind you, if you don’t love these beautiful animals I am confident by the time you leave the orangutans will have won your heart and if they don’t there’s always the elephants that will!!
Our First Experience To Bali Zoo
After having the most amazing time with the orangutans and elephants at breakfast we spent 2 hrs roaming the Bali Zoo. On our first visit to the Bali Zoo my parents got to feed an African Lion and tiger. Fortunately the animals were behind a big tall strong fence!! It was an awesome experience for me to watch and for my parents to experience.
There were all types of monkeys, reptiles and birds. If you wish you can take a ride on the Elephants through the water. My parents opted not to do this as they traveled Asia for a year in 2017 and had the opportunity to ride several elephants bare back. There’s also a pony ride for kids to go on.
Our Latest Visit To Bali Zoo
Again prior to visiting Bali Zoo we had a wonderful time having breakfast with the funny, entertaining, cheeky, gorgeous orangutans. Check out our experience having Breakfast with the Orangutans by clicking on the link.
We spent a couple of hours roaming around the Bali Zoo which was under renovations, they were building new enclosures for some of the animals.
The first animal we enjoyed watching was the bear. It was awesome to see him roaming his enclosure and we even got to witness him standing up!! Sometimes when you visit zoos the animals are not very active, we were very fortunate so many animals were active.
Our favourite animals would have to be the big cats. You can opt to feed them. As we fed them on our first visit to Bali Zoo we opted not to this time. However quite a few tourists took the opportunity.
There are a variety of monkeys which also captured our attention as they are so funny swinging from rope to rope chasing each other….on this visit some had babies which were so cute and fascinating to watch.
From goats to goannas, meerkats, lemurs, turtles and many more animals it is a fun day visiting them all.
You can opt to buy food and feed the deer. It’s great to get so close to them, this was a big highlight for the kids that were feeding them.
Our Thoughts
We loved our package deal at Bali Zoo, for us having breakfast with the Orangutans was an awesome experience. To get so close to these magnificent animals and be able to watch them interact with zoo keepers and the way they interacted with humans was a priceless experience. Then of course there’s the all time favourite elephants. There are no chains. The elephants seem very happy as do the rest of the animals at the zoo. On our first visit to the zoo we actually stayed in a villa with our own pool which again was a highlight!!
