Within a few minutes drive from the famous Nobbies on Phillip Island you will come across gorgeous lookouts over Bass Strait. The first lookout you reach is the Southpoint lookout, then in a blink of an eye you will reach the South Coast Lookout. Phillip Island holds so much beauty on such a small island. A place for photographers and nature lovers to explore. Take time out to sit and watch the waves crash up on the rocks. Don’t forget to take deep breaths to fill your lungs with the fresh sea air.

Dotted along the cliff top you are likely to see the Cape Barren Geese who over the years have increased their population on the island. To learn more about the Cape Barren Geese checkout the Wildlife on Phillip Island

Before reaching the South Coast Lookout on the unsealed road we stopped a little further down the road to take in the gorgeous view looking back onto the Southpoint Lookout. This was just as scenic as being at the lookout itself.

As you drive along the scenic coast cliff top road you will find Summerlands Lookout where you look down at Summerland Beach, famous around the world for the penguin parade. This little stretch of road holds so much beauty.

Our Experience
We slowly drove along and stopped at every lookout point along the way as we headed to Pyramid Rock Lookout. There’s something about being along the coast that we love. Just as we stopped to take one of numerous photos of this picturesque coastline a jogger ran around the corner and was a split second away from stepping on a copperhead snake. The jogger saw the snake in the nick of time and was able to retract his step. It’s a great reminder when exploring the island ensure you stay on the tracks and keep your eyes open.
