This is one of my favourite places to visit on the popular Phillip Island. From the carpark you can take a short stroll along the board walk where you can admire Pyramid Rock. Don’t forget your camera and binoculars. From here you get a spectacular view of not only Pyramid Rock but some of the Bass Strait coastline. The view of Bass Strait is amazing. A photographers dream. There is a place to sit and take in the serenity whilst breathing in the fresh sea air. Perhaps stop a little longer and enjoy a packed snack.
During whale season don’t forget to look out for the whales. For those interested in Whales or wanting to learn something new you’ll find an information board on whales.
What else can I do at Pyramid Rock?
For those wanting to stretch the legs for a bit longer you can take the scenic walk to Berrys Beach. The walk is approximately 2.9km / 1.5hrs one way and leaves from the carpark. It’s a great place to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Take time out, admire the view as you watch out for birds and wallabies. A place where you look out onto Bass Strait and watch the waves. On our visit we watched the birds trying to fly against the strong winds.
For those not wanting to walk as far as Berrys Beach you can take the short stroll to Storms Bay lookout, approx. 300m / 10 mins one way. Along the way you’ll find a park bench situated in a perfect spot to take in the beautiful view of the Bass Coast. As you stroll back to the carpark you get a distant view of Pyramid Rock.

Our Experience
On our visit is was definitely worth taking the time to sit and simply relax as we took in the ambience. One minute the sun was shining, next it was overcast. With this the scenery was constantly changing in front of our eyes. The deep blues of the water changing so much. It was beautiful to watch the transformation.
