Noojee Heritage Centre, Noojee

July 14, 2019

The Noojee Heritage Centre is situated at a replica of the old Noojee train station. The replica station was built in 2014. When we visited the centre was closed, however it was still a very interesting place to visit. If you love trains or interested in the history of Noojee then this is the place to visit.

About Noojee Heritage Centre

Here you can get a good idea of what the Noojee station was once like and see its 1950’s J class locomotive.

Although you are unable to climb onboard the locomotive there are steps which enable you to climb up and look at the engine of the locomotive. How awesome it would be if it was still running.

On display at the end of the railway track you’ll find a lot of information not only about the history of the railway line which went from Noojee to Warburton, it teaches you about the trestle bridges the railway crossed and the history of Noojee. We found it all very interesting.

At the end of your visit here you will have a better understanding of the regions timber and railway history. Not only this but also about some of the lives of the locals that once lived in Noojee.

Our Thoughts

We had often heard people talking about Noojee. We knew it was a popular place to go, after visiting here and learning about the history of Noojee and what Noojee had to offer we were hooked. Noojee itself is both historical and has so much natural beauty, its well worth the visit. We enjoyed our visit to the Heritage Centre which gave us information about what to do in Noojee. Overall we totally loved our weekend escape in Noojee and its high on our recommendation list.
